Hey! I'm Paul, a qualified level 3 Event Sprint Coach with England Athletics. I coach at the highly esteemed Woodford Green Athletics Club.
Mission
I help athletes achieve this through
- Sprint mechanics & analysis,
- Speed, Plyometrics, Interval & Strength training,
- SMART goals & individualise training programmes,
- Six weekly assessments,
- And a relentless commitment to encouraging athletes to surpass their limits!
I foster a sense of unity within the group while recognising that each athlete's journey is unique. I encourage camaraderie and healthy competition.
Sprint mechanics are fundamental techniques that play a crucial role in optimizing an athlete's speed and overall performance. It involves the precise coordination of various body movements to achieve maximum efficiency and velocity during sprinting. Key elements of sprint mechanics include proper body posture, arm movement, leg drive, foot strike, and rhythmic breathing.Â
As a Coach, I focus on refining these mechanics to reduce wasted energy, enhance acceleration, and maintain top speed throughout a sprint. By analyzing and improving these intricate movement details, athletes can unlock their full potential and achieve peak performance on and off the track.
Imagine a scenario where your growth takes centre stage – where every aspect of your performance is scrutinized precisely, transforming weaknesses into strengths.
Through individual collaboration, I assist athletes in establishing tailored, measurable SMART goals—providing clarity and driving unwavering motivation.
1-2-1 coaching offers a distinct advantage by allowing individuals to concentrate deeply on their specific needs. This heightened focus facilitates the identification of weaknesses for targeted improvements. If grappling with a particular skill, a one-on-one session affords undivided attention to its refinement without distraction. The format enables refinement of both areas, and support from the coach is significantly elevated, making it exceptionally beneficial for growth.
Athletics 365
My program for developing young athletes follows the official England Athletics curriculum, with stage progressions similar to those in other sports, such as the martial arts belt system. Just as martial artists advance through various belt colours, each denoting a new level of expertise, athletes in my program navigate through structured stages of development.
This approach ensures a systematic, measurable and progressive journey, where skills are built upon a solid foundation and mastery is achieved step by step.
Athletics 365 has earned recognition for its pioneering spirit and transformative results, solidifying its position as a beacon of innovation in the world of sports education.
